The two types of documents that may be notarized/legalized by the Philippine Consulate General (PCG) in Calgary are as follows:
Both types of documents must have a consular notarization or authentication of the PCG so that they will be accorded legal effect in the Philippines.
The PCG does not authenticate documents that are executed or issued in other provinces of Canada.

Only those with confirmed appointments can come to the PCG for an in-person submission of documents for notarization/legalization.
Examples of documents that may be directly notarized by the PCG include, but are not limited to, Special Power of Attorney, Affidavits, Contracts and other agreements. Since the applicants will sign these documents in the presence of the PCG’s Consular Officer, these documents do not have to be notarized and authenticated by the provincial authorities of Alberta and Saskatchewan anymore when brought to the PCG.
Applicants can also submit, in person, certain documents requiring authentication by the PCG, such as those issued by the Alberta/Saskatchewan provincial governments like the birth certificate, marriage certificate, death certificate and court document. All documents to be authenticated by the PCG must already bear the authentication of the Provincial Governments that issued them. This means the documents should have the green-ribboned provincial government authentication certificate affixed to them.
Below are the step-by-step procedures for in-person submission:
Please note that processing of the documents takes seven (7) business days, counted from the next business day following receipt of application, before the documents are returned by mail to the applicants, provided the requirements and procedures listed above are complied with. The PCG is NOT RESPONSIBLE for any delay or loss in the mail or any other uncontrollable circumstances surrounding the notarization or authentication of the documents.
It would be best to use an envelope with tracking features so the applicant would know the status of the delivery of the documents by Canada Post/private courier service.
For those based in Alberta

2. Bring your document to a local notary public for notarization.
3. Send the notarized document to the Deputy Provincial Secretary’s Office in Edmonton for provincial authentication. The document containing the local notary public’s original signature and seal can be mailed to the Deputy Provincial Secretary’s Office along with a written request for a certificate of authentication. 4. Upon receipt of the Alberta-authenticated document, please photocopy one set and mail both original and
photocopy to the PCG for consular authentication, along with a bank draft in the amount of CAD 36.25 (per
document) payable to “PHILIPPINE CONSULATE GENERAL”, the applicant’s contact details (cellphone number and
email address), and a prepaid self-addressed unused mailing envelope, preferably with tracking features.
